RADIO FIRING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The CSL 501 RFS Radio Firing System is the Radio Receiver Module which is available as an integrated
CSL 501 RFS and built-in unit for the Turret of both the Viper and Vulkan 4th Generation Disrupter Systems. The receiv-
er module has been developed in collaboration with FOG of Germany and is Bam certified. The receiver
unit works in conjunction with one of the FOG range of Bam approved transmitter units. The system
offers the following features and benefits:
• A firing cable is no longer needed enabling more rapid deployment and less time for the Bomb
Technician on disrupter set-up
• When required, for example against certain large targets with long stand-off, more than one disrupter
can be deployed quickly and fired either simultaneously or individually
• Danger of RF interference causing premature initiation is eliminated
• The Radio Receiver Module features two channels so that if desired a second disrupter or other de-
vice can be connected by a length of firing cable
FOG 4 CHANNEL TRANSMITTER UNIT
Display
We can offer the FOG 2 or 4 Channel Transmitter Unit both
of which are fully BAM certified. They feature either 2 or 4
channels which can be used to activate 2 or 4 channel coded/
dedicated receiver modules. The full colour display which is
dimmable shows the following data:
• Battery status of the Transmitter
• Security Status (e.g. security key plugged/unplugged)
• Battery Status of all connected receivers
• Signal quality for each connected receiver
• Number of each channel
• Measured resistance of each channel
• Programmed delay time for each channel
• Current status of each channel
• Display language can be set to English or German
Handling and Functions
The handling of the system is very intuitive and requires only a
few steps to get ready and fire. To fire the system, the secu-
rity key must be plugged and two buttons have to be pressed
at the same time. If the security key is pulled out, the entire
system immediately changes to the secure mode.
• ON/OFF: Switching the Tx on and off
• MODE: Changing the mode
• OHM: Measuring the resistance of a channel
• SCAN: Measuring the signal quality, status and battery
of RXs
• +: Plus
• - : Minus
• ALL: Pre-selection of all channels
• HOT: FIRE all or selected channel
