ELECTRONIC STETHOSCOPE DESCRIPTION
The RDS 900 EST is an advanced 3rd Generation Electronic Stethoscope System designed for both EOD
CSL 900 EST and C-IED applications. The equipment is designed to amplify acoustic vibrations which are the basis of
sound waves, emanating from mechanical, electro-mechanical and certain electronic fuses and timing
devices. The principal receptor for monitoring acoustic vibrations is the Contact Microphone.
The system also features a Microwave Doppler Contactless Microphone which can be positioned with a
useful stand-off from the device being monitored. The Contactless Microphone is designed to read the
signature of movement in a range of mechanical and electronic timers including conventional electric
clocks and time pieces.
